Genetic Defect
Had fun on this one. Found a basic brush I'm really liking. I don't like the legs, I may need to do a lower body study of human anatomy soon.

Self Portrait skin tone practice
Bleh, this is based off of a distorted picture I took in photobooth. I was trying to work on some skin tones but it looks a little flat. Lacking alot of contrast. Just posting this because I thought it would be interesting and perhaps I could get a crit from a few people. Took about an hour and half ish?
So I got a little frustrated, and walked away from the piece for a bit. Then I got mad at myself and came back to rework it, this is the next stage of the piece.
Then a little bit of creative freedom. The title of the piece if I continue with the theme will be "The Birth of the First Dragon"

It's Still a WIP...perhaps I'll finish it for next Tuesday.
The first image and the last two images are about 2 hours apart.

Any new visitors
My contact info: mylesgagne@yahoo.com, or 603-703-9058
To any new visitors, thank you for coming across my page. I've been working with this blog since last year about mid way through and this page has seen quite a bit of traffic. Thank you to all those who periodically come by and offer critiques or a glance at my work.
Keep in mind, a lot of these pieces on this page are works in progress, (basically meaning I'm not going to touch them again but I've pretty much moved on.) Some images are the process images, where others are studies. If you'd like to see a more elaborate portfolio, or are interested in a freelance job, be it logo design, concept art or illustration please contact me above. Thank you all once again, you keep stopping by and I'll keep drawing!

Robotron Painting
So, I'm a little rusty. I haven't touched any semi ambitious project since school. So I decided to tinker around with a piece I titled rather lamely "robotron" I felt a little nervous because I recorded this using a desktop recoding program to post on youtube. I'm hoping to make a video tutorial series for those newer to digital painting. I'll embed the video here once I get it uploaded properly.
Crits semi welcome, be gentle.

Primal Golem
Soon to come with this piece is an environmental drawing and a rework of the Fire Wurm. As it stands now, the pillar coming out of the back of this golem is enchanted by magic from a race long since dead. This race put these same pillars throughout an active volcano to stabilize the rising magma and decrease the average Temperature. Neglect and ignorance has caused these pillars to begin to malfunction, consequently allowing the magic to go awry and do things highly unexpected. The pillars have given life to things not meant to move, such as the volcanic rock throughout the region.

Wizard's First Rule Book Cover
This is an almost finish piece for illustration. I'm not super proud of it, just mildly content. I think I'm going to try to add more detail into this piece. Input always appreciated.
Note: I worked on this piece today so I'm erasing the older picture and putting up the most recent one. I forgot to put the orange glow onto the face of the cat. When I finish this I'll make sure to do so.

Occupational Portrait
Quick crit if anyone is willing to, send it via Facebook if you don't have a blogspot account. Much appreciated!
This was an Occupational Portrait, It's for the science museum, unfrountally I couldn't coax anyone to model so myself, my girl friend, and my friend chris did the modeling. This is like a self portrait.

Dragon I drew today.
This is a digital piece I did today, I don't know EXACTLY how long it took, I could safely say about 3 hours about. It has a very World Of Warcraft feel to it, which I don't mind. It was inspired by the third novel of "The Death Gate Cycle" called Fire Sea. Written by Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Here it is.
