So in response to a friends charcoal piece of "The Duke" I decided to anwser with a digi version. It's still got some work to do but not bad for a day of work (not 24 hours but a few here or there.)
So I added some photos of sharks in the background, ones I took off google, basically I just put them on multiply and lowered their opacity to make them recede in the distance. I did SOME painting on the upper right ones, where I thought they might be touched by the light.
So I'm stoked, this is one of 6 deity dragons I'm designing, the fire realm is below. (The reason I'm stoked is because I feel this piece is really coming along.) This is the water realm, I've included a detail on the portion I've spent the most time on. Crits welcome and thanks folks.
This is a digital portrait of my good friend chris. He's not wearing armor in the reference but I thought it'd be a cool inclusion. This is early on in the stage, I'll repost this post with the stages later.
Quick crit if anyone is willing to, send it via Facebook if you don't have a blogspot account. Much appreciated!
This was an Occupational Portrait, It's for the science museum, unfrountally I couldn't coax anyone to model so myself, my girl friend, and my friend chris did the modeling. This is like a self portrait.
